Sales Development Representative

Atakama is seeking an entrepreneurial, goal-oriented Sales Development Representative who will significantly impact our growth. 

Role

As an Atakama Sales Development Representative, you will report directly to our Chief Revenue Officer. You will be responsible for engaging with prospects, qualifying all leads, and helping to initiate the sales cycle for the Sales Executives who will ultimately close deals. This is a position with significant opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate is committed to building a career in Sales, is excited by emerging cybersecurity technology, and is willing to work hard to help us meet our growth targets.

Although relevant experience will be a factor, we seek a positive, ambitious individual who is willing to learn while bringing a tremendous amount of energy, work ethic, and enthusiasm to the table every day. The position involves heavy interaction with potential clients, calling for excellent communication skills and service-oriented abilities. The SDR opportunity at Atakama is a great stepping-stone position for anyone interested in learning the world of sales, start-ups, & cybersecurity.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Qualify and drive inbound and outbound sales leads, working closely with our Sales and Marketing teams. 
  • Set up discovery meetings and demos for sales executives to kick off the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate lead data, keep track of deliverables for prospects and track all activities in Salesforce.com. You will maintain a constant pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the needs of our prospects and map the business and technical value of our solutions accordingly.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly SQL, pipeline, and revenue targets.

Essential Qualifications

  • 2+ years of working experience in a sales/business development position
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely motivated and driven individual
  • Thrive in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment
  • CRM Experience a plus (Salesforce & Hubspot)
  • Familiarity with the cybersecurity industry is a plus

Non-essential Qualifications

  • Experience working in a startup environment

Nuts-and-bolts

  • This position can be full-time or hybrid in our NYC office or fully remote. Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the U.S.
